On Monday evening, the Sharon Merrill Associates team attended the 2010 Bell Ringer Awards, sponsored by The Publicity Club of New England. The Bell Ringer Awards recognize and honor excellence and achievement in the communications and public relations professions. The awards are often hailed as the “Oscars” of PR/IR in New England and the club’s board always organizes a high-quality event. We are proud to announce that Sharon Merrill Associates was presented two prestigious awards, one for its Investor Relations Program and another for this blog, The Podium.
The firm won the Gold Bell Ringer Award in the Investor/Financial Relations category for its investor relations program for Burlington, Mass.-based CIRCOR International, Inc. (NYSE: CIR), a provider of valves and other highly engineered products and subsystems that control the flow of fluids safely and efficiently in the aerospace, energy and industrial markets. This was Sharon Merrill Associates’ sixth Bell Ringer Award in the Investor/Financial Relations Campaign category in the past seven years and its 13th award in this category overall, including a “Best in Show” Super Bell Award in 2004.
In addition, we are delighted to inform you that you are now reading an “award-winning” blog, since we also won the Silver Bell Ringer Award for our corporate blog, The Podium, in the Corporate or Agency Blog category. This is our first award for The Podium, which we launched in October 2009.
On behalf of the entire Sharon Merrill Associates team, I would like to extend our appreciation to The Publicity Club of New England for recognizing our newly launched agency blog, and acknowledging the comprehensive and successful program we conducted on CIRCOR’s behalf, which resulted in completely revamped corporate communications materials, broader visibility for the company on Wall Street, increased sell-side coverage and improved shareholder value during a down market.
